At Ace/Avant Concrete Construction, I've witnessed firsthand how integrating the Crew Console app revolutionized our operations management and payroll processes.
Before adopting Crew Console, our time-tracking system was cumbersome, relying on a server to which the field employees had to sync manually multiple times a day. This often led to errors, delays, and inefficiencies in payroll processing. Crew Console's intuitive time-keeping feature allowed our foremen and crew members to clock in and out using any web-connected device, be it smartphones, tablets, or PCs.
It has real time connectivity, so as soon as they enter time, I can see it, versus before you would have to call and make sure they “synced” to the server. The same happened in reverse. I would create a job, and the employees would not be able to find it until they manually synced again it was such a pain. That is all gone with Crew Console!

One of the standout features of Crew Console is its emphasis on field-first operations. Foremen can now review, approve, or enter time for their entire crew directly from the field. This immediate oversight ensures that any discrepancies are addressed promptly, reducing the back-and-forth between the field and the office. This single feature was the magic key that unlocked single week payroll or a one week pay cycle as explained below.
Also, the visual representation of weekly hours and overtime through simple bar charts aids in proactive labor management, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget. The ability to assign hours directly to specific jobs and tasks in real-time provided unparalleled visibility into labor allocation and project progress.
For over ten years, transitioning from a bi-weekly to a weekly payroll cycle was an elusive goal due to the limitations of our previous systems. Crew Console made this transition seamless.
Foremen can now review, approve, or enter time for their entire crew directly from the field. This immediate oversight ensures that any discrepancies are addressed promptly, reducing the back-and-forth between the field and the office. In the office I can see by color code, if the time has been approved by a foreman or not. If someone has to make a change to an employee time that employee is notified within the app, so they can contest if needed.
A change-history is kept forever. With accurate, real-time data readily available, our payroll department could process payments more efficiently, ensuring our employees are compensated promptly. This shift not only boosted employee satisfaction but also enhanced our financial planning and cash flow management.

Crew Console's ability to export data directly to our accounting and payroll software eliminated the need for manual data entry, reducing errors and saving valuable time. The platform's compatibility with popular construction oriented accounting software and its capability to export .CSV files ensured a smooth integration into our existing workflows.
Beyond operational efficiencies, Crew Console fostered a culture of transparency and appreciation. Employees could view their logged hours, receive acknowledgment messages, and feel valued for their contributions. This positive reinforcement played a pivotal role in boosting morale and reducing turnover.
Implementing Crew Console has been a transformative experience for Ace/Avant. The platform's robust features in timekeeping, scheduling, and real-time oversight have streamlined our operations, enhanced employee satisfaction, and achieved long-standing organizational goals. For companies in the construction industry seeking to modernize their operations, Crew Console offers a comprehensive solution that delivers real results.
