The Split Entry feature is built for jobs that span multiple days and need to be broken into smaller, more manageable events. When a job runs longer than a single day, clicking on the event reveals a scissors icon. That icon means the event can be split. One day events do not show this option because there is nothing to divide.
Before splitting an event, you can expand it to review notes, add employees, or assign equipment. This is helpful because anything already attached to the job is carried into the split process, saving time and keeping details consistent.
How the Split Entry Feature Works
- Open a multi day event on the calendar
- Click the scissors icon to split the event
- Choose specific days to split or select individual dates
- Save to create the new events
A single long event can be split into multiple shorter events, such as turning a week long job into several one day or two day events. Each split becomes its own event on the schedule.
What Happens After Splitting
When an event is split, the system creates new events, which initially appear at the bottom of the list. This happens because they are treated as newly created entries. If you are sorting by job color, start time, end time, or another filter, the events will automatically move back into their correct positions.
Once split, each event can be edited independently. You can adjust dates, assign different crews, add notes, or make changes without affecting the other split events.
Why Use Split Entry
Split Entry gives you more control over long jobs by letting you manage work day by day. It makes scheduling clearer, improves crew assignments, and keeps large projects organized without duplicating or rebuilding events from scratch.
