If you just signed up for Crew Console and want to get moving without sitting through training videos, this quick walkthrough covers the basics most people care about right away: putting a job on the schedule and texting your crew.
Save Your Company Sign-In Link
When you first log in, click Share App. The link shown is unique to your company. Bookmark this link in your browser so you can return to it quickly. You can also download the QR code later to share with employees, but bookmarking the link is the fastest way to get started.
Start on the Schedule Page
Next, go to the Schedule page. This is where most daily scheduling happens.
Click Add Job and create a test job if you’d like. Enter the job name, job number if you use one, and the job address. The address drops a pin on the map, which you can move if needed. This location is important because it’s included in the text message sent to employees and opens directly in Google Maps for navigation.
Choose a color if needed, skip tasks for now, and save the job. When prompted, add the job to the calendar.
Add the Job to the Calendar
When adding the job to the calendar, you’ll see two note options.
Scheduler notes are internal and only visible to schedulers.
Event notes are sent to employees by text.
Save the event and place it on the calendar. You can move it, change the date, adjust the length, or schedule the same job multiple times if needed.
Set Up Employees and Crews
Crews in Crew Console are simply folders. You can organize them by crew, division, or trade.
If you don’t have employees set up yet, add a test employee. Create a PIN and enter a phone number. Using your own number is a good way to test messages before rolling this out to your team.
Employees can be dragged into crews or assigned using the search icon. When you schedule a crew, everyone in that folder is added to the event at once.
Send a Text to Your Crew
Once crews or employees are assigned to the event, open the event and enter an event note. This is the message your employees will receive. You can choose to include which coworkers and equipment are assigned so everyone knows who and what is going to the job.
Send the message, and everyone assigned with a valid phone number will receive a text with job details and directions.
Recommended Next Step
Before adding your full team, set up one test job and send the message to yourself. This helps you see exactly what employees receive and ensures everything is working as expected.
Once that’s done, you’re ready to start scheduling real jobs and crews with confidence.
