There are times when you need to build schedules in advance without showing them to your crew. A common example is on a Friday when you want to plan the next week or even the next few months, but the schedule is not final yet.
By default, as soon as you assign people to a job, they can see that job in the app. Crew Console gives you the ability to hide the schedule until you are ready to release it.
Why You Would Hide the Schedule
Hiding the schedule allows you to plan without confusing your crews. You can fully build out jobs, assign people, and move work around while things are still being finalized. Employees will not see partial schedules or changes that are not ready to be shared.
How Schedule Visibility Works
Schedule visibility controls whether employees can see assigned jobs in the app. When visibility is turned on, any job an employee is assigned to appears immediately. When visibility is turned off, you can still create jobs and assign people, but nothing is shown to employees.
How to Hide the Schedule From Employees
- Go to the schedule as an admin
- Turn off schedule visibility for employees
- Build your schedule as far out as needed
- Assign people to jobs without showing them
Releasing the Schedule to Your Crew
Once the schedule is finalized, turn schedule visibility back on. Employees will then see their jobs and assignments all at once, keeping communication clear and avoiding unnecessary questions.
