This tutorial explains how foremen enter time for their crew, approve employee time, edit entries, add notes and photos, and track job goals.
Logging In as a Foreman
Enter your PIN to log in. Once logged in, you will see your crew and their time for the week.
Color meanings:
- Yellow means an employee entered their own time
- Teal means you, the foreman, entered or approved the time
- Blue means an admin has approved the time
As the foreman, you can see and manage time for everyone on your crew.
Entering Time for Your Crew
Press Enter Time. Your crew is already selected.
If someone from another crew worked with you, you can add them manually. Once you enter time for them, they will remain visible to you for the rest of the week.
Steps:
- Select the job
- Select the task
- Choose the date
- Enter time
You can enter time one person at a time or select everyone and enter time in one shot.
You can:
- Enter start and end times
- Or enter total hours
- Apply lunch breaks
- Enter quantities installed
When you submit, time is applied to each selected employee.
Entering Time for Multiple Tasks
After submitting time for one task, you are returned to the task list for that job.
You can continue entering time for additional tasks such as saw cutting, forming, or pouring footings. If no other work was done, press Done to finish for the day.
Editing Time Before Admin Approval
As long as the time is teal and not yet approved by an admin, you can edit it.
Open the time entry, select the task, and adjust hours, start and end times, or quantities. Any changes you make are tracked and visible to admins.
Adding Notes and Photos With Time
While entering time, you can add notes or photos tied to the job and task.
Notes and photos:
- Are attached to the job
- Are visible to job managers
- Do not go to payroll
This is useful for progress photos or job specific notes.
Approving Employee Entered Time
If employees are allowed to enter their own time, you may see yellow entries that need approval.
A yellow dot indicates there is unapproved time. Open the entry to review it.
You can:
- Confirm it as is
- Edit it if needed
Once confirmed, the time turns teal and is marked as approved by you.
Tracking Job Goals While Entering Time
On jobs with goals, you will see progress indicators while entering time.
You can view:
- Total quantity planned vs installed
- Manhour goals vs used
- Current pace compared to target pace
Green means you are ahead or on pace. Red means the job is falling behind.
These indicators help you adjust production in real time.
Foreman Timekeeping Summary
As a foreman, you can enter time for your entire crew, approve employee time, correct mistakes, add job documentation, and monitor job performance. The weekly bar graph should grow each day as time is submitted. If it does not, something was missed and should be corrected.
