Creating Tasks

For: Scheduler

Topics: Get Started

Before you start creating jobs in Crew Console, it helps to set up a basic task list. Tasks give you more flexibility when managing jobs and allow you to track progress in greater detail.

Tasks are items you can attach to jobs, such as placing concrete, framing, or inspections. Each task can include photos, notes, and attachments, making it easy to document work as it happens. You can also allow employees to enter time and quantities directly to tasks, which connects seamlessly with timekeeping and tracking.

To get started, go to your task list and create a few sample tasks. You can name tasks anything that fits your workflow. If your company uses cost codes, you can add them here as well.

When creating a task, you will see a field for units. This is used with the goal setting feature. For example, if you are setting up a task for placing concrete, you might use square feet as the unit. Adding units is optional, but it becomes useful later when you begin tracking productivity and pace.

Once a task is created, it is not locked in forever. If you need to correct a name or update details, simply open the task and edit it. This flexibility makes it easy to adjust as your process evolves.

With a few tasks in place, you are now ready to move on to the next step, setting up your first jobs in Crew Console.
