Setting up jobs in Crew Console is flexible and designed to fit the way your team already works. This article will explain you step by step, how to create jobs in Crew Console.
Creating a new job
When you create a job, the first required step is entering a job number. Every job must have a unique number, even if your company does not normally use job numbers. This ensures each job is clearly identified in the system.
As you enter the address, Crew Console automatically places it on the map. You can fine tune the exact location by dragging the map pin to the correct spot. This is especially helpful for field employees using the app, since navigation will direct them to the pinned location rather than just the written address.
Using job colors
Each job can be assigned a color, and these colors can mean whatever works best for your operation. Some companies use colors by division, such as framing, concrete, or finishing. Others use colors to represent job status, such as upcoming work, ready to schedule, or fully approved jobs.
Colors also allow you to filter your calendar, making it easier to manage large schedules at a glance.
Adding tasks to a job
Once the job is created, you can attach tasks that were set up earlier. Tasks are optional, but they add powerful tracking capabilities. For example, you can attach tasks like placing concrete, saw cutting, or forming.
If you have a long task list, you can search for specific tasks or select multiple tasks at once. After adding your tasks, simply save the job.
Scheduling comes next
After saving, Crew Console will ask if you want to place the job on the schedule right away. You can choose to do this immediately or wait until later. Scheduling is covered in more detail in the next steps of the setup process.
With your first job created and tasks attached, you are now ready to begin organizing work, assigning crews, and tracking progress with confidence.
